Mike Gravel Hearts Sarah Palin!
Former Alaska Senator Mike Gravel appeared in an interview with the staunchly pro-Obama Pacifica radio. They expected Gravel to bash Sarah Palin, and tell them what the Republicans “haven’t told us about Sarah Palin.” Sounds pretty ominous….
Instead of obliging, Gravel says nice things about Palin.! And then takes a few shots at today’s Democrats for being “imperialists.”
Questions abound.

- Does Wizard now heart Gravel?
- Does Stella no longer heart Gravel?
- And....?

I never "hearted" Gravel. I found him to be a cranky old man somewhat reminiscent of McBush:-)
I heart madmike
I hate the fact that many on each side feel they must demonize and, if at all possible, virtually destroy the candidates they oppose.
Take, for example this blog site: NOBAMA, NOT NOW, NOT EVER!. This site feeds on hate and they are stewing in their own juices. They won't even allow opposing comments (pro-Obama comments are deleted).
It's not a question of walking down the middle (as Vigilante has accused me of doing), it's a question of dealing in issues, policies and programs, and not dissolving into a cesspool of attacks, inuendos, slander and terribly unimportant non-issues (like misquotes).
The right is having a field day today about Biden's mis-statement about clean coal. And, once Biden denied he made the statement, the right really exploded, because they have it on tape. It's now viral on YouTube.
Yes, Biden looks stupid and out-of-touch. He seems to be on a different page from Obama. SO WHAT!!!!! Biden is an EXCELLENT MAN. Probably the most qualified candidate in the entire race. And he has a good heart. He will make a great Vice President. And, if he ever needed to serve, a great President.
Here is the tragedy. The same can and should be said about McCain and Palin. I don't need to heart Gravel..... He is simply correct.... every word, every sentence. He never said he supported her. In fact he said he disagreed with her on every issue. He would never vote for her. He just wasn't going to play in the gutter. Good for him.
madmike, I apologize for my rant on your space.
Thanks for the heart Wiz:-)
Now down to business: You must have watched a different clip than the one Vigil posted on this blog. I heard this ancient old man, a guy who makes McCain look spry, deify Sarah Palin and her acolyte, John McCain. What clip were you watching? He is clearly a lover of McCain/Palin and a hater of Democrats. He spent 9 minutes worshiping the Killa from Wasilla and downgrading Obama's experience and background.
As to Biden's gaffe it had nothing to do with clean coal. It was about an Obama ad. What news do you read? What cable do you watch? I watch news about 6 hours a day, and another few hours reading and researching the major media players, and some not so major. Never did I read a word about a Biden gaffe about clean coal.
In conclusion Wizard I think you are a Republican or a right leaning independent, progressive or libertarian. You are not an Obama supporter my friend. At least not that I can tell by your writings.
No apology necessary for your use of space Wizard:-)
Wizard should never have to apologize for the amount of column inches he consumes because he always has something to say that is worthy of consideration. He may have something he should apologize, but I would prefer to say that he has some explaining to do: that is how McWizard can 'walk down the middle' between Obama and McCain. Anyone who admits to voting in support of Bush & Co on 90% of the great issues of the day, has got to be at least 90% of the demon that Busheney are. There's no room for equivocation here, now, today. It's patriotic to work for a landslide Obama victory to repudiate the apostasy of the Busheney period in our history.
I also heart Wizard. But it's hard, hearting him these days.
madmike You know better than to think I would bother to surf over to your blog and just make things up ;)
The "clean coal" misstatement has exploded all over the Internet. Here's just one of a thousand links: Video: On clean coal, Biden takes bold stand against, um, Obama’s position
Ths all started on the blogosphere, but quickly was picked up by the major media. Here's a link to ABC News
Wonkette, a site that seems to hate McCain and Obama equally also has the clean coal video and writes: Joe Biden - Screwing Up 900 Times an Hour. They really need to realize Hillary isn't going to be the nominee......
WOW!!!! Bill Clinton hearts Todd Palin!!!
I'm looking for the video... Did any of you folks see the Bill Clinton interview with Greta Susteren???? Bill couldn't praise Todd enough and seeme to praise Sarah, too. It was a love fest.
OK. The video is here right now, but probably won't be for long.... this isn't a permalink.... once you get here click on "Advice for the First Dude" to see the video.
Don't miss my comments to McWizard on his diagnostic post pertaining to Gravel.
Oh, I missed this post, Mike. Yes, Gravel broke my heart. He was right about one thing: McCain had the right to choose whoever he wanted for the VP candidate. True, even if I loathe the Killa. He almost groveled to Gov. Animal Murderer.
I commented on Wizard's blog. And, yes, I agree with Wizard that the interviewers were extremely rude.
Do I still heart Gravel? I'm disappointed. But I hearted his comment: The longer one's been in politics, the more corrupt they are. Maybe he's just being honest about himself.
Or I might ask, "What is it about men in their 70s lusting after Killa?" I wish I had a poll of 70-year-old men who plan to vote for Killa/McCon.
